Burnout is a term that describes what happens when your body is trying to force you to slow down. It is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. Chronic stress and overwork are unfortunately common issues in our society that lead people to feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and exhausted.

A proper assessment is the first step

As a Naturopathic Doctor, it is important for me to first explore potential underlying causes of feeling more burnt out. A proper assessment may include measuring thyroid and sex hormone levels, a nutritional assessment, and ruling out potential autoimmune or inflammatory causes before pursuing treatment.


We use individualized treatments to address underlying factors that could also be contributing to feeling unwell. Some areas of focus may be:

  • Individualized nutrition to promote optimal energy levels
  • Promoting optimal digestion to increase absorption
  • Optimizing blood parameters (such as iron, vitamin D, B12)
  • Balancing/improving mood and energy using individualized supplements/herbal medicine
  • Supporting hormonal balance
  • Improving sleep quality and quantity
